Recently, Professor Shen Wei, a Qingshan Young Scholar at Zhejiang University and Qiushi Chair Professor at the School of Public Affairs, has been officially appointed Co-Editor-in-Chief of the leading academic journal *Global Networks: A Journal of Transnational Affairs*, following an invitation from the publication. Prior to this, Professor Shen Wei had already served as Editor-in-Chief of *Asia Europe Journal*, another key SSCI journal in the field of area studies published by Springer Nature. This significant academic appointment not only highlights Professor Shen Wei’s outstanding international reputation in the field of transnational studies but also helps to enhance the influence of Zhejiang University’s social science research on the mainstream international academic stage.

*Global Networks* is published by the world-renowned academic publisher Wiley. Since its launch in 2001, it has remained at the forefront of research into globalisation and transnational practices, and is a leading journal in the fields of transnational studies, globalisation and social network analysis. The journal integrates multidisciplinary perspectives and consistently ranks in the top quartile across the three SSCI subject categories of Anthropology, Geography and Sociology. Its research holds significant academic influence in interpreting global mobility, international migration networks and transnational social governance.
Professor Shen Wei will form the editorial team alongside two leading international scholars: Zachary P. Neal, an expert in social network analysis at Michigan State University, USA; and Johanna L. Waters, Professor of Human Geography and Co-Director of the Migration Research Unit at University College London .
Professor Shen Wei has long been engaged in cutting-edge fields such as transnational migration, China-Europe relations and global talent mobility. He has been awarded the Jean Monnet Chair by the European Union and serves as Vice-Chair of the Europe-Asia Centre in Brussels, Belgium, as well as a member of the international advisory boards of numerous universities and business schools across Asia and Europe. His extensive international academic background and rich experience in international organisations have played a significant role in promoting academic exchange between the East and West. In his role as Co-Editor-in-Chief, he will bring fresh perspectives from China and the Asia-Pacific region to the journal, helping to build a more inclusive and in-depth global academic network.
