This handbook is spearheaded by Professor Wu Xiaobo and his team from the School of Management at Zhejiang University, in collaboration with top-tier research groups in the field of innovation management across China. The handbook is divided into four parts: the connotation and key definitions of technological innovation, technological innovation in Chinese enterprises, the construction of China's technological innovation system, and new paradigms of technological innovation in the new era.
The first part analyzes the origins of technological innovation and its major research schools, and traces the theoretical evolution from secondary innovation to comprehensive innovation based on the Zhejiang University School of technology and innovation management research in China. The second part integrates the practical experiences and theoretical frontiers of Chinese enterprises, providing a systematic review of topics such as technology-driven business model innovation, inclusive innovation, and green innovation. The third part examines regional and national innovation systems from a macro perspective. The fourth part focuses on new paradigms in China's technological innovation management in the new era, synthesizing the knowledge framework.
Positioned as a bridge linking theory and practice, as well as connecting China and the international community, the Handbook of Technology and Innovation Management in China emphasizes the systematic and cutting-edge nature of theoretical frameworks while ensuring practical applicability. It not only comprehensively covers multiple dimensions of technology and innovation management—from macro to micro levels—but also engages with前沿 theories. By integrating theoretical overviews with classic cases, the handbook systematically presents breakthroughs in research achieved by over thirty experts and scholars in the field of technological innovation and management in China, grounded in local practices.
